Do you have in depth experience within employment law and do you want to employ this knowledge into comprehensible solutions to management? Does implementing and driving practically applicable processes and systems for the benefit of people in an international organisation sound appealing?

We are embarking on a significant transformation in United Shipping and Trading Company (USTC), that consists of independent companies such as Bunker Holding Group, SDK, Uni-Tankers, Selected Car Group and Unit IT. As Legal Counsel your greatest responsibility is to guide and consult our wide range of companies within law and legal terms and regulations.


Make an impact and become a part of an ambitious HR team

You will become a key member of a team of 14 colleagues in Group HR working closely with a broad range of stakeholders. As our new Legal Counsel, you refer to and assist our Attorney-at-law. You will become part of our Compensation & Terms team and you will be based in the A/S United Shipping & Trading Company’s Headquarter in Middelfart. As Legal Counsel, you will assist in delivering compliant, timely and relevant advice and solutions to the entire Group on all matters concerning HR Terms & Conditions. You will therefore also be working closely with the compensation team, who are responsible for compensation and benefits in order to ensure we service the full needs of the USTC Group as one team. Among others, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing, updating, and drafting employment agreements, appendices, and other employee related documents,
  • Providing advice in collective-, and labor law, as well as in local law concerning our many subsidiary companies, based in many different countries,
  • Negotiations with unions, lawyers etc.,
  • Resolving disputes,
  • Ensuring compliance with current and new relevant legislation (including GDPR),
  • Creating strong relationships across the entire Group,
  • Implementing and expanding digital solutions for archiving contracts & handling terms, and
  • Drafting, streamlining and implementing relevant processes and policies across the portfolio of our global businesses.

Result oriented professional with strong analytical and communication skills

As a person you thrive in a change-oriented organisation and can adapt to new conditions whenever needed. The ability to communicate and interact with employees and managers at all levels, across cultures and across organisational units is also part of your profile. Further we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • You hold a degree within law (cand.jur), ideally with focus on employment law
  • Relevant experience from an international commercially minded environment will be considered an advantage
  • A general flair for IT and systems will be considered an advantage
  • You are well-structured, solution-oriented and have excellent communication skills in Danish as well as English.
